Apartment Building Package Rooms: Pickup Help for Heavy Items

Apartment Building Package Rooms: Pickup Help for Heavy Items

The Last 14 Floors Are Yours

Many NYC buildings have a package room or locker in the lobby. Great — until the delivery is a 70-pound box of dog food or a flat-pack wardrobe. The building won't carry it up; that's on you. Here's how to finish the last leg.

Confirm the Building's Carry Policy

Some buildings allow staff to carry to your door for a tip; most don't. Know before you assume. If the answer is no, book a pickup-and-carry pro.

Tell Us the Floor and the Elevator

The fee depends on the carry: elevator vs. walk-up, and how far from the package room to your unit. Tell us the floor and the building name; we route a pro with a dolly.

We Bring a Dolly and Blankets

A dolly turns a 70-pound box into a one-person carry. A blanket protects the box on the elevator walls. Both come standard with our pickup service.

Combine With a Carrier Pickup

If you missed a delivery and the package is at the carrier desk, we pick it up and bring it to your apartment — one booking, not two.

Oversize Package Rooms Have Limits

Some package rooms won't accept anything over a certain size and the carrier holds it at their desk instead. If that happens, switch the pickup address to the carrier desk; we handle both.

The $45 Flat Often Covers It

A single heavy package from a package room to your apartment often fits the $45 flat rate. Oversize or multiple items may add a small fee — you'll know first.

Book package carry-up in your NYC building — from lobby to your door.
