The Marketplace Pickup, Step by Step
A Marketplace pickup sounds simple until you're in the middle of one. Here's the full workflow so you know what happens at every step.
Step 1: Lock the Deal With the Seller
Confirm the item, the price, and a pickup window. Get the seller's exact address and floor. No van can be booked against a maybe.
Step 2: Book the Marketplace Van
Pick the Marketplace Pickup service, choose a date and time inside the seller's window, and give us the pickup address, the delivery address, and a description of the item. We authorize a one-hour deposit to hold the spot.
Step 3: We Route the Closest Pro
A vetted driver-pro with the right vehicle is dispatched. For a couch or a dresser, that's a cargo van with blankets and a dolly. You get an ETA.
Step 4: Pickup at the Seller
The pro arrives at the seller's address, inspects the item (sending you photos if you ask), helps carry it down, pads it, and straps it into the van. You pay the seller directly during this step.
Step 5: Drive to You
The van drives straight to your address. We don't do other pickups on your time.
Step 6: Unload and Place
We carry the item up (freight elevator reserved), unwrap it, and place it in the room you choose. The van leaves with all the blankets and straps — nothing left behind.
Step 7: Pay the Balance
The balance on the van booking is charged after the job completes. Tip is optional and customary (15–20% in NYC).
The Whole Thing Usually Fits 2 Hours
A pickup and delivery within NYC, with elevators on both ends, almost always finishes inside the 2-hour minimum. Walk-ups and long drives add time — and you'll know before we start.
