You bought a couch on Marketplace and you don't have a truck. Here's how to get it home.

The Van-and-Pro

A van with a pro is the answer. The $99/hour rate (2-hour minimum) includes the van, the driver-pro, a dolly, and a blanket. The couch goes from the seller's door to yours.

Take the Legs Off

Before the pro arrives, ask the seller to unscrew the couch legs. Those four inches are often the difference between the couch fitting the van and the door.

Measure Both Doorways

Measure the couch (smallest dimension) and the doorways at both the seller's and your building. A couch that fits the van but not your door is a couch stuck in the lobby.

Wrap It

The pro wraps the couch in a blanket. The blanket protects the couch and the seller's and your walls. A bare couch rubs every doorframe.

Carry It On-End

The couch goes through the door on its end. The pro knows the "hook" turn for tight corners — rotating the couch to fit a door it "doesn't fit."

The 2-Hour Minimum

A local Marketplace couch pickup usually fits the 2-hour minimum. A long drive or a walk-up at either end adds time.
