LIATORP Glass Doors Need Precision
The IKEA LIATORP is a glass-fronted cabinet — and the glass doors are the entire look. Misaligned doors and smeared glass ruin it. Here's the alignment and the cleaning.
Hinge the Doors Level
LIATORP doors mount on adjustable hinges. Install each hinge into the door, then hook it onto the frame plate. Two screws per hinge adjust gap (side) and depth (in/out). Get the gap even first, then the depth flush.
The Glass Is Heavy
LIATORP doors are tempered glass — heavy. The hinges carry the weight, but a frame that's even slightly racked makes the doors bind. Square the cabinet (diagonals equal) before hanging any door.
Clean With Microfiber
Glass doors show every fingerprint. Clean with a microfiber cloth and a 50/50 water-vinegar spray. Don't use window cleaner with ammonia on the frame — it can haze the finish.
The Track for Sliding LIATORP
Some LIATORP has sliding glass doors on a top and bottom track. The track must be perfectly level — a 1mm slope and the doors bind. Level the track with shims before hanging.
Don't Over-Tighten the Hinge
The hinge screws into the glass frame, not the glass. Over-tightening pulls the frame and can stress the glass. Snug, not cranked.
