NORDLI Is a Modular Dresser System
The IKEA NORDLI is a modular dresser — stackable drawer units that combine into any width and height. The build is per-unit; the stacking is the system. Here's the assembly.
Build Each Unit Flat
Each NORDLI drawer unit is a box with a drawer. Build the box first (cam locks and dowels), square it, and nail the back panel. The back panel keeps the box square for stacking.
The Drawer
The drawer box assembles separately. The drawer front attaches from inside with screws — get it flush before tightening. The runners mount to the box and the drawer; click the drawer onto the runner.
Stacking
NORDLI units stack with connectors that lock the top of one unit to the bottom of the next. Insert the connectors, stack, and confirm they're seated. A stack without connectors shifts when drawers are opened.
Anchor the Stack
A stack of NORDLI units is a tip-over risk. Anchor the top unit to a stud — the included anchor is for this. An unanchored stack with open drawers tips forward.
The Custom Width
NORDLI units come in 2 and 4-drawer widths. Combine them: two 4-drawer side-by-side, topped with two 2-drawer, for a 6-drawer-wide dresser. The combinations are the system's point.
Drawer Alignment
Each drawer's gap should be even (about 3mm). Adjust the runner height and the front screws to even the gaps across the stack.
