The Carrier Desk Problem
UPS, FedEx, and the USPS hold oversized packages at their local desks because they won't fit in a mailroom or on a bike. The notice says "pick up within 7 days" — and you have no car. Here's how to actually get it.
Find the Right Desk
The pickup notice lists a street address, not always a recognizable branch. Look it up before booking — some desks are in freight buildings with no signage and limited hours. Tell us the address and we'll route the closest pro.
Bring the Notice and Your ID
The carrier won't release the package without the delivery notice and a government ID matching the name on the package. If a pro is picking up on your behalf, you'll need to pre-authorize them — we walk you through the carrier's release form.
Oversized Means a Van
A 60-inch TV or a boxed treadmill doesn't fit in a car. Our pro brings a van for anything over roughly 4 feet in any dimension. Tell us the size when booking so the right vehicle arrives.
The Building Package Room
Some NYC buildings have a package room that won't accept oversize freight. Confirm your building's policy before the carrier tries to deliver — or have us bring it directly to your apartment, past the package room.
Timing Matters
Most carrier desks close at 6 or 7pm and aren't open Sundays. Book a morning pickup if you're racing the 7-day clock.
