Freight Delivery During Business Hours
A big online purchase ships freight, and the carrier schedules a 4-hour weekday window. You can't take the day off. Here's how to receive it.
Authorize a Pro
A vetted pro meets the freight driver at your building, signs for the delivery, and holds the package until you're home (or moves it into your apartment). You authorize the pro with the carrier's release form and your ID.
Confirm the Building's Freight Rules
Most NYC buildings require a Certificate of Insurance and a reserved service elevator for freight. Tell us the building and the delivery; we'll confirm what's needed so the driver isn't turned away.
The Curb-Drop Problem
Freight drivers often deliver curbside — they won't carry it inside. A pro on-site takes the package from the curb, into the building, up the elevator, and into your apartment.
Inspect Before You Sign
A freight driver asks you to sign before unboxing. Have the pro photograph the box at the curb — if a corner is crushed, note "damaged packaging" on the bill of lading before signing. That note is your claim.
Reschedule the Window
If the carrier's proposed window doesn't work, reschedule within their 7-day window. A pro can receive it in any window you can book.
