How Same-Day Moving Help Works
Same-day moving help is labor-only (or labor+van) booked and completed within the same day. Here's how it actually works.
Book by Phone or Online
Same-day is usually booked by phone or direct online booking. Describe the move: the addresses, the items, the building rules, and the time window. The crew is confirmed within the hour.
The Crew Arrives With Gear
Two movers arrive with a dolly, furniture blankets, and tools for disassembly. (For a van, the van arrives too.) The 2-hour minimum starts when they begin loading.
You Direct the Work
Tell the crew what to load, what to leave, and the priority. A same-day crew works fast — a clear list keeps them efficient.
The Deposit
A card-on-file deposit (one hour) holds the crew. The balance is charged after the move based on the actual time. A reputable crew doesn't take a large upfront payment.
Walk-Ups Add Time
A same-day walk-up move takes longer — the crew knows this and books the time. Don't underestimate the flights.
Tipping
15-20% of the labor, cash, at the end. A $200 same-day move tips $30-40.
