Furniture Assembly on Long Island — $80/hr, Nassau & Suffolk
Long Island homes come with the thing Manhattan apartments never have: space for the furniture to actually go. That means guest-room beds, basement shelving runs, garage storage, a home office that is not also the dining table, and a patio set that needs building the week the weather turns.
We charge $80 per hour with a 2-hour minimum — $190 for the smallest job — with tools, hardware, unboxing and packaging removal included. Whether you are in Garden City, Hicksville, Massapequa, Huntington or Port Jefferson, the quote shows your full total before you pay, travel included.
What makes a Long Island job different
Bigger houses, more stairs than elevators, and deliveries that land in the driveway instead of a lobby. Here is what we plan for before the truck is unloaded.
Driveways and garage deliveries
Most Long Island furniture arrives on a pallet at the end of the driveway. We open it there, carry pieces to the room they belong in, and take the pallet and cardboard away with us rather than leaving it at the curb.
Split levels and tight turns
Capes, ranches and split-level homes often have a landing turn a boxed wardrobe will not make. We measure the path first and, if needed, build on the landing or in the garage and carry the assembled piece up.
Basements, garages and bonus rooms
Shelving runs, workbenches, storage benches, gym equipment and bonus-room desks are common here. Low ceilings and single doorways change the order of assembly, so it matters which room you name at booking.
Patio and deck season
Outdoor tables, chairs, umbrella bases and deck storage get built in a narrow spring window. We anchor and level on uneven pavers, and we will assemble outdoors if you would rather not drag boxes through the house.
Highway scheduling
The LIE, Northern State, Southern State and Meadowbrook all change what an arrival window means. We book realistic windows by town instead of pretending Hicksville and Huntington are the same drive.
Older homes, real quirks
Mid-century ranches and Levittown capes have low doorways, plaster walls and floors that have shifted over decades. Anchoring, shimming and leveling are part of the job, not an upsell.
What the hourly rate includes
All tools and hardware — drills, hex keys, levels, mallets. You supply nothing.
Unboxing, sorting and hardware tracking so no screw goes missing.
Pallets, cardboard and foam removed and taken off the property.
Wall anchoring for dressers, bookcases and TVs when you ask for it.
Leveling and stability checks on uneven floors and pavers.
Building in the room it will live in — or the garage, if that is easier.

Billed at $80/hour with a 2-hour minimum, so the smallest job is $190. A $15 per billed hour Booking & Support Fee is added once per job-hour, and the quote shows the full total before you pay.
