How much does furniture assembly cost in NYC?

We charge $95 per hour with a 2-hour minimum, all-in — so the smallest job is $190 total. A dresser or bed frame is usually 1.5 to 2 hours ($190), a sectional or dining set 2 to 3 hours ($190 to $285), and an IKEA PAX wardrobe 3 to 5 hours ($285 to $475). Your price is confirmed before you book; there is no trip charge and no markup on hardware.

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes — hourly work has a 2-hour minimum, which is $160 in labor plus a $30 booking fee, or $190. That covers the dispatch, travel and setup time it takes to get a pro to your door with a full tool kit.

Can you come same day?

Same-day and next-day appointments are available across all five boroughs, 7 days a week, subject to pro availability. Book online to see the open windows, or call (855) 687-7145 if you need someone within a few hours.

Do you bring your own tools?

Always. Pros arrive with power drills, screwdrivers, hex keys, levels, mallets and a stud finder. You do not need to own a single tool, and we do not need your building to lend us anything.

What if the manufacturer left out a piece or the box is damaged?

We build everything we can with what is in the box and tell you exactly which part is missing and what to order. If a piece arrives damaged, the pro photographs it before starting so your return or replacement claim with the retailer is clean.

Do you take the boxes and packing material away?

Yes. Cardboard is flattened, styrofoam and bags are collected, and everything is stacked or bagged for your building trash room. If you need full haul-away, that can be added as a junk removal job on the same visit.

Can you disassemble furniture before a move and rebuild it after?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people call us. We take apart beds, sectionals, desks and dining tables, bag and label every screw and cam, then rebuild at the new address — same visit or a second appointment, whichever you prefer.

Will you anchor furniture to the wall?

Yes. Dressers, bookcases, wardrobes and TVs get anti-tip anchoring on request, and we will anchor into studs or use the correct masonry anchor for your wall type. For homes with toddlers, anchoring is included as standard.

Do you assemble IKEA PAX wardrobes?

Yes — PAX is our most requested system. A 2 to 3 frame build with doors and interior organizers typically runs 3 to 5 hours. Because PAX needs two people for frames and alignment, tell us the exact configuration when you book so we send the right crew.

How is this different from TaskRabbit or Thumbtack?

On those platforms an independent tasker sets their own hourly rate and a service fee is added at checkout, so the price moves job to job and varies by who accepts. We publish one rate — $95 per hour plus a $15 per hour booking fee — quote it before you book, send a pro with a full tool kit, carry insurance on the work, and back it with our happiness pledge.

Do you work in apartments, walk-ups and buildings with a doorman?

That is most of our work. We come up to the apartment, work in the room where the furniture lives, and coordinate with doormen and supers on building rules, COI certificates and elevator reservations when a building requires them.

What if I am not happy with the build?

Tell the pro before they leave, or call us the same day. Our happiness pledge means we come back and fix what is wrong — alignment, wobble, a door that will not close — rather than leave you living with it.

Totals include the $15/hour booking fee. Two pros are billed as one job per hour — the fee does not double for crew size. Travel is included in the hourly time, not charged as a separate trip fee.
